How to Read F600 Faults via Marshal & Connect Tools

In 2026, troubleshooting a specialist drive requires more than just reading a code on a screen. Nidec provides several digital interfaces for deep diagnostics.

  • Marshal App (NFC/Mobile): Use the Marshal app on your smartphone to diagnose system issues. By scanning the QR code on the drive or using NFC (on supported frames), you can pull a full diagnostic report, including possible causes and wiring diagrams directly to your phone.
  • Connect Software (PC): For complex parallel or multi-leader pump systems, the Connect PC software provides a full view of the drive’s logic. You can monitor PID feedback, pipe pressure, and flow rates in real-time.
  • Trip History (Menu 10): The F300 stores the last 10 trips in Parameters 10.020 to 10.029. Each trip is recorded with a timestamp based on the drive’s run hours, which is essential for identifying intermittent grid issues.

Specialist Pump Features & Fire Mode

The F600 is equipped with features that change how it handles faults during critical scenarios:

  • Fire Mode: When Fire Mode is enabled (Parameter 01.053), the drive is designed to ignore most standard trips to ensure water flow for fire suppression systems, even if it results in drive damage.
  • Dry-Run Prevention: The drive monitors the load. If the load falls below a set threshold (indicating a lack of water), it will initiate a controlled stop or alarm to protect the pump seals.
  • Pipe Fill: This feature prevents “water hammer” by slowly filling pipes before reaching full pressure, preventing nuisance trips on overpressure.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is the difference between a Trip and a Warning?

A: A Trip (Solid code) is a protective shutdown that stops the motor. A Warning (Flashing code) indicates a “near-trip” state, such as Motor Overload, where the drive is reaching its limits but has not yet shut down.

Q: How do I reset a Pump Drive F600 trip?

A: Once the cause is cleared, reset the drive by:

  • Pressing the Red Reset Button on the HOA keypad.
  • Cycling the Main Power (Wait for the display to turn off fully).
  • Toggling a Digital Input assigned to the “Reset” function.
  • Sending a reset command via Modbus RTU or BACnet.

Q: What does “OI.AC” mean on a pump drive?

A: This stands for Overcurrent (AC). In pumping applications, this is often caused by a “locked rotor” due to a pump blockage (clogged impeller) or a short circuit in the motor windings.

Q: Where is the trip history stored?

A: The trip history is stored in Menu 10. Parameter 10.020 shows the most recent trip, while parameters 10.021 through 10.029 show the previous nine events.
