F52981 fault in siemens sinamics V90 drive indicates an Absolute encoder motor mismatch. This means the currently connected motor is not compatible with or supported by this specific servo drive hardware. 

Cause:
Connected absolute encoder motor cannot be operated. The servo drive in use does not support the Motor ID.

Remedy:
  • Use a suitable absolute encoder motor.
