How to Read ATV310 Faults & History

Navigating the ATV310 is done via the jog dial. Because the codes are numeric, it is essential to check the “Maintenance” menu for details.

  • Active Faults (Fxxx): When the drive trips, the display flashes an F followed by three digits.
    • F010 – F018: Typically relate to Current and Motor issues.
    • F025 – F030: Typically relate to Mains Voltage issues.
  • Fault History (Menu 8.1): To diagnose past issues, go to Menu 800 (Maintenance) → Menu 801 (Fault History).
The drive stores the last few faults, allowing you to see if a specific error (like Overvoltage) is recurring.
  • Status Codes: If the drive is not faulted, it shows status:
    • rdy: Ready (Power on, no run command).
    • run: Running (Outputting frequency).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What does “F010” (Overcurrent) mean?

A: F010 is the equivalent of the old “OCF” fault. It means the motor is drawing more current than the drive can handle.
Causes:
1. Acceleration ramp (Menu 501.1) is too short.
2. Mechanical blockage at the machine.
3. Wrong motor parameters (Check Menu 300).

Q: How do I fix “F025” (Mains Overvoltage)?

A: This occurs when the DC bus voltage is too high.
Scenario A (While Stopped): The incoming mains voltage is too high (Check grid voltage).
Scenario B (While Decelerating): The motor is regenerating energy back to the drive. You need to increase the Deceleration Time (Menu 501.2) or add a braking resistor.

Q: How do I reset the ATV310?

A:
1. Power Cycle: Turn off the drive, wait for the display to turn off completely, then power on.
2. Long Press: In some configurations, holding the STOP/RESET button for 3 seconds clears the fault.
3. Remote Reset: Trigger the Logic Input assigned to “Fault Reset” (Menu 600).
